My name is Brian Corcoran. For more than thirty years I have been entertaining audiences of all ages. Originally I teamed up with my brother to form the Corcoran Brothers and, at the age of 16, I got my professional start performing Irish music in Irish pubs, night clubs and concert halls throughout the United States, Ireland and Canada. In 2003 I created a new show, “Memories in Music”, comprised of the great songs from the era of the Greatest Generation. Songs like “Sentimental Journey”, “As Time Goes By”, and “Swinging on a Star” just to name a few. I also include a sing-along with classics such as “Beautiful Dreamer”, “Let Me Call You Sweetheart”, “Moonlight Bay” and many more beloved songs. In addition to the music, the show includes humorous stories about my family and lots of anecdotes about growing up as one of fifteen kids.
Since 2003 I have been performing “Memories in Music” in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Alzheimer units, rehab centers, and senior centers. I never imagined when I created this show, just how much people would enjoy it and how rewarding I would find it. The feedback has been extremely positive, both from the residents and the staff, and it has been a joy to meet the residents and watch them smile as they sing along with me, recalling fond memories.
